Welcome to my photo gallery.
My name is David de Moraes and I’d like to share a glimpse into who I am through my hobby, Photography.
I currently reside in Southern California with my wife and our 2 children. We’ve been fortunate to find travels throughout our lives both locally and abroad all of which have provided wonderful opportunities for me to grab my camera, find good lighting and capture single moments in time, and of course spend time with my family.
When I picked up my first pocket camera at the age of 9, I was completely fascinated knowing I had the power to make time stand still. Peering through the small viewfinder I would find my shot, push the shutter button, then slide the film advance lever and look for my next shot, 24 per roll. Framing my subject was never easy, and neither was achieving the right light (before the digital era), but at that age, the interest was in taking photos and seeing the results afterwards, not so much in composition or focus. It was like opening gifts on your birthday, you never knew what you were going to get from the local film developer.
Present day and with a more than just a pocket camera I enjoy freezing time with my camera, peering through the viewfinder, pursuing good light and sharing new photos.
